Print Parameter Files
A Print Parameter File (.PPF) contains all relevant Bentley Advanced Map Finishing settings required for a successful print.
The following points are important to note when setting up the PPF:
- The file used to describe the DGN file to print is the only token required within the PPF if printing from outside MicroStation.
- The order of the PPF is critical. For example, if you specified paper size using the PAPER_SIZE token and then used the PAPER token, the PAPER_SIZE settings are over-written.
Other areas are influenced by this, such as print area (SCALE, PRINT_HEIGHT & PRINT WIDTH), fences (FENCE_SHAPE & FENCE_RECT), view settings (VI and RV), and paper settings (PAPER, PAPER_WIDTH & PAPER_HEIGHT).
- Lines in the PPF are ignored if they begin with either the # character or the new line character (empty line). Therefore, the file can be commented.
- The PPF is not case sensitive.
To create a PPF file using the Bentley Advanced Map Finishing Print dialog box :
- Open the design file in which you would like to perform a batch print.
- If the batch print is to be performed from a fence, then this fence should now be placed in the design file.
- Open the Bentley Advanced Map Finishing Print dialog box and set the print settings as if you were conducting a normal print in Bentley Advanced Map Finishing.
- When complete, click the Save PPF button.
- Turn on the desired PPF Options in the Print Parameter Filters dialog box.
- Browse to the location to save the PPF.
The PPF can now be used for a normal batch print. See Batch Printing.
